Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The car was a little sluggish on start up a few times, so I thought I'd throw on the maintainer overnight. There's a little LED on the transformer (RED) that lights up... does this LED turn off when the battery is charged?

POST 2Original post

Yes. It turns on when it senses that battery is slightly discharged and turns off when battery is at full charge. My understanding is that even when the light is off, though, there is a small charge flowing through the unit to prevent discharge.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have had the maintainer on for 24 hrs and the red LED is still on. The car does start better... perhaps my battery is trying to give up the ghost.

POST 5Original post

I have the same maintainer, and the LED does eventually go out. It may take several days for this to happen.
