today is my car's 1-yr aniv (since i've owned it). at first, i was harsh about perceived reliability. save for the gearbox replacement, i've discovered that this thing is well-nigh indestructible. everything on it still works! i've only replaced tires and brakes (still have original clutch) it has not leaked anything, doesn't burn oil and avg'd 19.6 mpg while cruising a steady 100 + mph for some hours on end. i use it like an suv more times than i care to admit (folding rear seats allow lots of extra stowage room). it serves my needs as a daily driver and i beat the sh*t out of it on track days. I've put 2,966 miles/mo. it now has 68,xxx miles on the clock--anyone have a higher average? i must seem like i talk out of both sides of my mouth at times, but i must say, it's a been a great car.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Happy Anniversary! I have to say after 10 years experience that these are great cars. They say 2/3 (or more) of every Porsche ever made is still in service. I have one buddy who bought a 1976 Targa new and still drives it daily, and another with a 1971 911 (that I almost bought in 1973) who still drives it on weekends. If I was smart (or "thrifty") I should probably keep my new Targa for 20 years (but no doubt "998" will start nagging in a few years).
I think I'm at 154,000 Km's (about 96,250 miles). My clutch is toast, though.
