For years my outside cab cables have about a 6" section that ride outside the rails when lowering over the rear corners of the front windows. A little pressure from the finger will guide them in so have been doing this. I'm ready to buy and install the cable or whatever it is that runs between the top and headliner that gently pulls the cables inward. 1. I have search but cannot find a part number. Anyone have one? 2. Is there a DYI on how to install it? I assume you open the top half way, find the connection points and run it through? If I didn't answer my own question there please help me out. Thanks in advance.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I had the same problem. In my car, it is an elastic strap that goes across and pulls the top when open. One of the ends was broken. I stitched it up last week and it works fine now.
Can you please shoot me some pics? That is what I am looking for. I don't think I have a part to stitch
Sure. I will take a pic tonight. If you look under the conv fabric, right where it comes over the rail, you will see an almost "triangle" fabric attached to the top. The wide side is attached to the top while the narrow side of that is attached to the elastic strap. If you can't see it, put your hand under the top and look for it. It should be there.
