Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi Rennlisters My first Porsche - 996 C2 Cab - loving it and having a blast. Just had the best 2 days of driving EVER and had Mrs Water Hound along for the ride! Would love to see some epic 2 day loops that others love, regardless of location. If you're anywhere near the Pacific Northwest and have a couple of good driving days available I can recommend this trip wholeheartedly.

Yea, some amazing roads along that route. I have done the Vancouver - Lillooet trip a couple of times. Loved it so much that I had to come back the same route. Best early morning, before any RV's or trucks with trailers in tow get on the road. An awesome drive! Also love the Chuckanut drive, but it's much shorter.

Water Hound, Where did you end up staying overnight? I've done the Duffy Lake Loop on motorcycle, but not by car (yet.) Thanks in advance! Mike

POST 4Original post

That's crazy trip Water Hound. Well done. I'd like to get the top leg of your trip done again this year but will probably wait for Sept when the traffic is less.

Got to Osoyoos for the night. This loop has it all: White Rock to West Vancouver - not too exciting but we left at 5AM and had downtown Vancouver mostly to ourselves. Exhaust notes through the downtown core are great Met the PCA-CWR "Bob's Breakfast Club" group at Starbucks on Highland Dr West Van, had a coffee and then left with 25 cars to Pemberton. Sea to Sky Hwy in a fast parade is great. Ocean one side, mountains the other. Breakfast at Big Sky Golf Club in Pemberton with the group and then off on the Duffy Lake on our own. The drive to Lilloett on the Duffy Lake Rd is legendary - if there's no traffic. We were really lucky that way on the whole trip and had very little in the way of moving chicanes ahead of us. Lilloett to Lytton - wow - Rocky, hot, very twisty narrow road, sunny, edge of the canyon. Lytton to Merritt via Spences Bridge - great twisties here and again, no traffic. Merritt to Princeton - getting drier as you head away from the coast. Hwy 5A is bordered by big pines, rolling hills and lots of little lakes. Princeton to Osoyoos - Crowsnest Hwy isn't a lot of fun if it's loaded with campers and trucks. Again, almost no traffic at all. Had a quick transit. Osoyoos for the night - wine country, dinner at Campo Marina for Italian (excellent!) Amazing in the desert. Just add water and you can grow anything at all. Wines are excellent, peaches are ripe early this year. Osoyoos to Omak, Wa - not too inspiring and lots of speeds traps. Must be trying to fund the local governments there. Beautiful scenery but uninspiring drive at posted 25 to 60mph. Omak to Winthrop - beautiful drive again with clear roads. Winthrop has a great western theme going on. Winthrop to Sedro Woolley - WOW - how can you describe the scenery of the North Cascades Hwy. Stunning and loss of words. Heading West had almost no traffic but eastbound cars were plentiful. Lucky again! Sedro Woolley to White Rock - decided to stick to I-5 as we were getting close to home. The Chuckanut would have been the icing on the cake but we decided to leave it for another day. Let's call it dessert.
