Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

To my pleasure, my C4S came with the tire I wanted. So far, no diappointments, tire is quite, handle incredible and rides Ok (somewhat firm, but it is a summer tire and it is 30 degrees outside) At "porsche speeds" (how's that for not incrininating myself) the car is rock stable. I will keep you informed

POST 2Original post

Sounds great! My 996 Cab first came with P-Zero's which I continued with. A few months back I needed new rears to pass inspection (rears were slick at 9k miles) P-Zero's were out of stock all over the US, so I found a source for the Michelin PS's and man am I happy. After four sets of Pirelli's the Michelin's allow me to hear the exhaust note now instead of road noise.

POST 3Original post

Just wait until you wear those down to 2/3rd the tread depth. Then, you can tell us how much quieter they are.

POST 4Original post

My car came with P-Zero's but not noisy at all. I must admit they seem to stick pretty good and will continue using them when it comes to changing them over. Any chance they are different for different regions/countries?

POST 5Original post

It is likely that your car came with the PZero Rosso (red) Asimmetroco's. If that is the case, this tire is slightly less noisy than the previous PZero Giallo (yellow) Asimmetrico. However, my point is that all high performance tires get significantly noisier as they wear. That is just the nature of rubber getting harder with use. That's why people always think they got a quieter tire when they switch to a newer one.

POST 6Original post

I now understand! Yeah mine did come with the PZero Rosso N4s. Must admit they only have 10K km on them so far and no road noise. I have been a very placid driver to date, barely out of second/third gear Will be interesting as I have never changed a set of tyres on either of my porsches to date, always managed to get into the new one without changing them.

POST 7Original post

My earlier point was based on 5 years of driving the 996 with P-Zero's, from new to slick. The noise level certainly was a bit higher at slick than new, but even so, burning through a set in no time gave me the experience of hearing the new Michelin's under the same conditions. I agree, that when worn, they will surely be more noisy. But in my opinion, the Michelins are far quieter than the Pirelli's ever were.
