The Euro seems to have gone up nearly 30% in the last few months. Has anyone seen price changes? How can companies like Porsche absorb such an enormous erosion in their selling price otherwise?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

if I sell my june 2003 C2 in London I can buy a brand new GT3 in the states
Porsche hedges against the impact of the dollar vs euro. They stated in a recent interview that they felt they could keep pricing flat for the next few years based on their current investments. Lotus had to raise the price of the new Elise because they do not do that. It was projected to cost $38.5K and they had a fat gross margin at that price. Now it is just under $40K and they make very little money on it. They felt it had to be under $40K at launch... The rate has killed me on a couple of deals... Thanks GWB. Roy
<<The rate has killed me on a couple of deals..>> Of course on other deals the exchange rates help exports... Furthermore, if interest rates are raised here to help boost the dollar, the housing market suffers. To me it's a wash--I agree with the current strategy of doing nothing for now, though I hate the exchange rates when I'm in Europe. caf
Hmmmm. .... if I could drive my E320 Merc wagon that I just can't sell here to Europe, I'd get a bunch more for it there....
