I have the auto dimming mirror (has the sensor/eye on the bottom of the glass) but it doesn't work. Are these known to fail? Is there a fix? Looking for ways to fix other than taking it to the dealer.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I couldn't tell if it worked at all to begin with and then I tinited the windows lightly. I programmed the last button on the seat memory to tilt both outside mirrors about 5 degrees downward at night and bought a ROW non-dimming convex for drivers side.
I have my windows tinted too and the inside RVM still doesn't auto dim. I don't have a problem with the outside mirrors. And I didn't know they were tied into the seat memory...interesting.
