Situation is this: I bought a brand new 2001 C2 in October 2002 w/about 100 miles on it. However, in the computer, the in-service date was January 2002. I was told that the owner took it for a weekend and that's why the in-service date was January 2002. I was also told that the in-service date would be moved up to October 2002 without a problem. Well, its been a year later and just now, I've received a letter from Porsche stating that they are willing to offer me a "2-year Porsche Approved Limited Warranty Extension". I have left a message for Customer Committment Rep to return my phone call as I am unclear as to what this really means. My basis issue is that I'm being shorted almost 1 full year of "full, bumper to bumper" coverage and being given 2 years of "Limited" coverage. FWIW, I drive the car 7500 miles a year and there have no major issues with it. Any suggestions on whether or not I should take it and what issues to clarify prior to accepting their offer? Thanks.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Don't know what the legalities are in the US regarding verbal contracts. Did you get it in writing that the in-service date would be moved up? Whatever the sitiuation, make sure you get extended warranty. The second you knock it back, Murphy's law will step in.
