Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

So my gas filler door (is that the name) stopped locking with the alarm. I pulled on metal prong that extends to lock it and it felt very tight... I sprayed a tiny bit of wd40 and moved it back and forth and it works again but with the gas filler door locked there is a lot of play in it. I can prop it 1/4 way open. It looks like im missing a guide of grommet around the prong Can someone take a picture o that prong to confirm if Im missing something? thanks!

sheet metal. For some reason this bushing comes loose -- found mine laying in gas cap cavity more than once. Bushing snaps back in but is keyed to is has to be oriented just right. Without this bushing in place for some reason the locking pin's movement is severely limited and it will not extend far enough to engage hole in tab on door. Once bushing back in place locking pin travel does extend far enough to engage hole in tab on door and lock gas filler cap. You can watch this by working lock/unlock button on key module. If bushing missing you'll have to get another at dealer. Get several and keep in center console storage just in case. Sincerely, Macster.

time to call suncoast. thanks!

POST 4Original post

Part number: 996 624 505 02 Guide rose $1.22 from my indy. No point in calling Suncoast, because they'll have to add $6 S&H. Even your local Stealer won't charge that much! Takes 15 seconds to install, if you don't rush.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the part number. S&H will be ok b/c parking near the dealer is $18
