I'm thinking of selling my 99 Cab. My daughter uses the car most of the time and we're out of warranty. She doesn't know anything about cars, as she said, " Dad I don't even know where the dipstick is", I reminded her that when shes driving the dipstick is behind the wheel (I couldn't help it). So I'm in the market for a 00-01 C4 (because of recommendations on this board), I prefer the fat back - was that body made in those years? any pics of it.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

fat back??? C4S....??? Not until 02.
Thanks Juan...
You could buy an 01 C4 and add some of the goodies that made the C4S mechanically different (brakes, etc), even some of the body cladding (front end, rear bumper), but you can't widen the rear fenders (at least not w/o approaching or surpassing the cost of an '02 C4S)... pic of a c4s pic of a c4.. I'd say get an 01 C4 Cab...not that I am biased or anything...
You could also spring for a Turbo... Fat back, and holes in fender
Hows the ride in the fat ones? Do they still fit in the garage?
I gotta stay within a warranty. I don't noodle w cars anymore & my daughter.... well I refer to the earlier post. Personally I like the 98, but maintenance security is the goal. Has anyone had experience with warrantybynet? After market warranty.
I heard recently that an aftermarket warr co went belly up, and all customers before a certain date got shafted...it was a fly by nite either... better to get a newer car with some factory warr... I know its a travesty and all, but if its for your daughter you could go for a newer BoxsterS maybe an MY02/03 for the same price...
We had a Boxster, it was one of the first - it was a lemon & left a bad taste. PCNA took it back, no hassle entire refund, That's why I felt secure buying the S, PCNA took it on the chin with no BS. Warranty co was Gold something; but that's another story.....
