Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

First time I drove the car is 3 weeks. Went to dinner with my wife. Parked in the first spot in the lot. Came out afterwards and SUV rear door must have dinged the upper side of the passenger quarter.

POST 2Original post

Man, that just makes me Cringe! Sorry to hear that! Got any Pics of it!

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thx. I'll post some tomorrow. Time for an expensive PDR.

POST 4Original post

I have the same, a little paint chip and a ding over the right rear wheel. Not getting it pulled out until I get a few more, though.

POST 5Original post

I posted earlier about a few chips on my hood and I took my car to a local body shop with great reviews on Google and Yelp. They had my car for a few days and fixed all my chips and took out 4 small door dents. Total cost was just $250. Car looks great! It is worth seeing how much a body shop wants to remove your dent.

POST 6Original post

When the top of my convertible would not come up one time I got so mad and side fisted the clam shell hoping to release it some way (Sodding idiot I am at times) and my fist put an egg sized dent in the clam shell. A guy here only charged me $50 to pull the dent out and it's as good as new. They call it Paintless dent removal and use that method for removing hail damage dents. It shouldn't cost you much provided the paint is not cracked. I asked him could he remove any dents in my skull. I think my mom dropped me on my head when I was a kid and thats why I act crazy. He just laughed.

POST 7Original post

There is a company here in Houston, Dent Dogs, that does Paintless dent repairs. They were able to get every ding out of my 2000 996. The body is nearly flawless, just a few scratches. There is no reason to suffer door dings. These guys got a ding hign on the rear fender, as well as the door and fender edge. They make it look easy.

POST 9Original post

Sorry to hear about this I go to great lengths to keep them off my car when parking. I also had the paintless dent guys work on my A4 recently and it came out perfect. Very inexpensive and very happy.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I got a quote today. $79 from a reputable refinishing place today. They'll try a glue and pull first and if that doesn't work, go in via rear tail light to pop it out. Feeling better. Plus, I'm going to have some interior leather scratches fixed up while I have it in the shop. I'll report back how it looks.
