I have had Cargraphic on my 996 for last 1500 miles and have to say that i am pleased with it although the exhaust note is not as metallic or raw as i wanted but still an improvement on the standard. I am now considering the Techart (which i have had previously on a 996 Tip).

i have a gt3 cupcar cargraphic exhaust that i got from a rennlist member two weeks ago. It sounds great, throaty, i dunno if its different from the regular 996 one. I also have 100 cell sport cats so that probably helps, in comparison to the fabspeed i had this one is 10x's better. fabspeed i noticed the sound was louder, but not rumbling type like a ferrari. infact it is exactly the same as the stock sound (pitch and tune) which is kinda flat, but loud.

Yeah, the reason I am asking about the cargraphic is because I am looking at a used one to save some $... I can't quite stomach $1,000 to $1,500 for a better sound. Colin: is the cargraphic noticeably louder than the stock exhaust...?

Yes the Cargraphic exhaust is louder than the standard (you say stock?) and the sound definitely more bass than treble. As I said I am happy with the sound but miss the Techart which gives the metallic treble sound - bit like a 355 ? One thing is that when i ordered mine I was told that Cargraphic supply 3 exhausts in Europe and mine is the 'middle' one - there is one quieter (not worth it) and one louder (that i was advised is too loud for long distances). Two days after picking up my car i did a quick round trip to Munich (about 1300 mile round trip) and never found the noise to be intrusive but you know it's there! Shame you are not just round the corner or could demo BTW the price new here was about �800 fitted. Regards Colin
