Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

My $0.02 worth (and that may be overstating its worth) is that month-end is better than the beginning. That's typically when sales people are trying to make quota. This is qualified, however, depending on dealer you're going to. If it's a high-volume dealer, then sales quotas may not be that important. That said, if your attitude is "I would like to buy a car, if the price is right" rather than telegraphing that you really, really want the car, you ought to be able to strike a fair bargain almost any day of the month. Regarding whether to buy an 03 after the 04s come out, or wait until February to buy leftover stock, if you can find one in February, I'm sure the discount will be even better than in August. Again, that's just my opinion. . . I could be wrong.
doc, i have purchased 7 different porsches at 7 different times. i think that the end of the month thing can be overstressed-it can help, but more important is to find a reputable dealer who has way more cars then he/she wants for that particular time. for example, a dealer who is loaded with cabs in january, if cabs are your thing. a dealer sitting with 3 targas in the northeast, as targas are slow movers. a dealer with the same 3 tt's for the last 4 months. a particular dealer who has way more boxsters then anyone else around. i am sure that you see the picture. to get a great deal, you may have to be flexible, but supply/demand is more important then time of month. a year ago, a tt sold at msrp all month. now a tt sells at deep discount all month. good luck.
