Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

A couple days ago I asked the local dealership if they would replace free of charge my rear window rubber seal since it squeaks when I drive the car and it's the subject of a TSB. (TSB# 4/99 6420, dated 7-13-99). I explained to the dealership service rep that the TSB goes on say that rubber seals were "improved in production as of 11-19-98" implying that Porsche knew the existing seals were problematic and thus had to be re-engineered. The service rep said they were aware of the problem and the TSB, but if I was having problems (out of warranty) then I would have to pay for the fix. Is this normal? Has this been everyone else's experience with TSB's when a car is out of warranty? Any advice or recommendations are welcome. Thanks, Mark
