Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So, thanks to a local rennlister (Kirkwoodloyal) who had some gorgeous gold Volk TE37's for sale, I've now got them on the car. I must admit, I was a little leery to put gold wheels on my speed yellow. But I'm actually really liking it. Looks fantastic when it is dusk out. What do you think? I'm still toying with the idea of going silver with them instead, but I figured I'd leave them like this for a while and see how I like it. It's definitely different. Love these wheels!

POST 3Original post

I'll agree - different and nice - cool concept. Just hold back from taking the gold bling too far... next thing you'll end up with are Mr.T chains hanging from the mirror!

POST 4Original post

Not bad at all! Pretty sure you won't be seeing a bunch of others like yours and that's a big positive in my book!! Congrats!

POST 5Original post

not my cup of tea but what matters is that you're happy with 'em

POST 6Original post

If they were Speed Yellow that would be way better....something like this...

POST 7Original post

I like the wheel design, and love the speed yellow, but to me the colors clash when put together.

POST 8Original post

Very surprising.....I don't hate it :-) The wheel design has a lot to do with the appeal of the overall look. SY wheels would be too much!

POST 9Original post

Looks cool ... it's different ... maybe try Plasti dip in a matching color for the mirrors and see if that can tie it all together

POST 10Original post

Looks good to me. Only negative - no center caps. It's a pet peeve with me - can't stand alloys without center caps installed. Ruins the wheel.

POST 11Original post

I like gold and yellow together. You just need to lower the car a bit now.

POST 12Original post

I like it, it's different and its a risk but to me pays off. This is what will set you from all the rest of the speed yellow 996. My only complaint is your stance. Get that thing lowered ASAP, looks like your car is flooding like Michael Jackson only without the white socks

POST 15 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for all of the comments everyone. I'm thinking SY wheels would be a little too much for me. As for the stance, it is actually lowered! I'm on H and R's. I think it may be the lighting so you really can't see where the tires are relative to the fenders. I'd love to go a little lower with some coilovers eventually, but for now, springs will do for me. I'm not really sure about center caps. My Porsche caps just look weird being that they are silver, and from pics I've seen, it looks like most Volks just had a blank cap. Not sure what to put on there yet. Ideas? CR

POST 16Original post

I like the look too! But you should sell those to me as they'd look even better on a black car.

POST 17Original post

Personally no but def different. That color combo reminds me of pink and red. Too close in color with not enough contrast. Anthracite or even dark bronze would look killer on that yellow IMO. But as long as you like it is all that counts. We're not in high school here(although some of us act like it sometimes).

POST 20Original post

You might try wheel spacers, particularly in the rear. That might help fill out the wheel well a bit. I like the look tho!

POST 21Original post

Look is good in my book - unique. Try to figure out how far you can move outward without risk to the fender and get some Hubcentric spacers for the rears. About $50 on eBay. 2002 Turbo - Basalt Black Metallic / 2003 Carrera 4S - Speed Yellow / 1955 356 Continental 1500 - Rust Red

POST 22Original post

I thought this was going to be hideous but surprisingly it's not. Not for me, but kudos to you for trying it! Now on my black car...maybe!

POST 24Original post

I have to side with Fly996 and go with speed yellow if ya want yellow wheels. Even so, the car looks great!

POST 25Original post

I don't like yellow on cars. I don't like gold wheels either. But your 996 looks great, different and distinctive!
