Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

This may have been discussed...I couldn't find anything, so here goes.. The inside of my tips are orange colored. Almost like rust. All my other cars, this is my first Pcar, inside the tips is usually black with soot(probably spelled wrong). Anyway, is that a normal color for the inside of the tips. When I rub it it's like a orange soot opposed to black or gray. ???Phattey 2000 C4 Cab...

POST 2Original post

That sounds like the car has had some xylene-based octane booster (like 104+) in it, it leaves a residue similar to what you describe. If so, that is all through the engine, not just in the tips.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hmmmm...I'll ask the original owner if he dabbled in Octane boosters. Thanks...Phattey
