Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Does anyone know what bulbs fit the OEM clear turn signal covers for the rear (and front?) on the 996 and (Boxster?) - is it the 1157NA dual filaments? Thanks very much.

The 1056 will work. They are not dual filament.

POST 5Original post

That topdaytrader spam is getting to annoy me. He must have a program when the word bulb is posted. You can get your bulbs at any car parts place. It is a standard bulb. Single filament. 1057 was in the car when it burned out. I had a old bulb from a Honda motorcycle turn signal in my bulb box and put it in. Did not check to see if it was a 1057 since it fit and worked. Jeff

1056 and 1057 - do you guys mean 1156 and 1157? or is there no difference?

POST 7Original post

Forget what I said. I was thinking of a 1997-2002 Boxster where the standard front and rear lights have amber lenses with clear bulbs. In 2003 Boxster went to clear lenses with amber bulbs. Except for some early 1999 996s - 1999-2001 have clear lenses and I assume amber bulbs. The bulb number I gave was for a clear bulb turn signal bulb - not amber. Go to the Sylvania site and look up your car or take you bulb down to a parts place and match it up.
