Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've checked out the helmets at Simpson, but they are pretty expensive. Any suggestions?

POST 3Original post

I don't think you'll find many good Snell 2000 approved SA full coverage helmets for less than $300. The Simpson Voyager is a popular helmet for about $350. Bell makes some (M2, M3) starting at about $300. Arai is more expensive. If you can, get to an outlet where you can try them on. Different brands fit differently even in the same size, and proper firm fit with comfort is very important.

POST 4Original post

I bought an OMP Tourismo sedan racing helmet for DE. Wide eyeport, full face, with no visor (no intentions of open wheel!) SA2000, very comfortable. Here is a link to one source: http://www.saferacer.com/omptouishel.html $389, no tax, free shipping. I bought mine at Lime Rock Park in CT; I wanted to try it on and wear it before purchasing. Helmet fittings are a matter of personal taste.

Check out Helmet city . They have a huge selection and when I shopped about 6 months ago they had the best price. Shipped promptly with no problems.

A smashed helmet with an intact head in it...priceless. Spend the money. It's worth it.
