Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

So, decided to have a Christmas treat yesterday and drop some 35% tint on the windows. Even put 50% on the windshield. Come home from the shop and notice not one but THREE dimples on the roof of the car...just between the sunroof and the windshield. Large ones!! Anyone have any insight on repairing this. I'm pretty certain a paintless dent guy can get the dents out, but my big concern is the headliner. I have the alcantera headliner, and I just have my doubts about wether anyone can get that headliner back in once it is removed without having a giant squeak feast or just poor fitment. **sigh**

POST 2Original post

I would suggest going back to your window tinter and make it their problem........unless they were always there and never noticed. If they didn't do it I would try some dry ice and a heat gun. It might bounce right back.

POST 3Original post

Give it a few days. I've always had a few dimples right after installation that disappear.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I called the guy after I discovered the issue. He vehemently denied that he did it and then said he wants me satisfied and that he would take care of it. He has a paintless dent guy on the payroll. I think he's actually going to take care of the issue and seems like a stand-up guy so far. My main concern is how much skill is required to reinstall that headliner if the need be.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

And while we are talking about things, for those who have had the windows tinted.....it seems that around the perimeter of the rear windows, where the dot matrix is, the film is a bit raised. Is this something that cures after everything dries out? Thanks...Nick

POST 6Original post

I'm pretty sure the PDR guy won't have to remove the headliner. All of his work will be from the top.
