Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Where is it? On a frosty morning yesterday the display read -4C. After half an hour of driving it still read the same even though I measured the air temperature at +3.5C with an electronic thermometer. After being stationary in a covered garage for another hour the readings agreed at 11C. Is this usual?

POST 2Original post

It is in the front grill. When you come to a stop the display is locked until the car moves again. That is so the sensor will not get a false reading from the heat from the radiator. Jeff

POST 3Original post

Sensor is very near ground level, where it might very well be colder than, say, shoulder height.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks guys. I wonder whether it is possible the sensor can get so frosted that it becomes insulated from the air for a while? Does that make sense?
