Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was just curious which car has the better performance say on the 1/4 mile, 0-60 times? I thought that 996 would beat the 993 no problem but then I was on a site www.car-stats.com and it said that the 993 had a faster 1/4 mile and 0-60 time. I know the site is a little off even from the Porsche site but now I am just curious. Thanks. -Andrew

POST 2Original post

It is very hard to compare times like that. The tracks could have been at different elevations, different temperatures, different drivers. There are so many factors to consider. On the other hand ,read the post about "being nostalgic and scan happy" one of the articles actually says they also felt the 993 was faster.

POST 3Original post

996 will blow away a 993 all day long. I have driven both back to back many times. 993 is an awesome car in every way. 996 just happens to be better....

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I wonder why the statistics are in favor of the 97 993TT on the site then? That is the last time I will use that site for any comparisons. -Andrew
