I am looking at a 2000 996 in rain forest green w/ lt grey interior. Low miles, great condition, well optioned, etc. Given that only about 1% are this color, it is probably not on of the more desirable color options. At this point, I have only seen pictures AND I have never seen the color on the road. I would be interested in hearing from those of you who own (ed) one or have seen one this color on the road -- Visual appeal? Resalability? Other? Thanks!

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I have seen one on the road in my area and liked the color. I wouldnt worry about re-sale on the car, as it is a semi neutral color. Having less than 1% might increase the re-sale of the car in the long run If you market it as rare, just a thought. You will also have the satisfaction of knowing that almost no one has a car like yours. Good luck with your choice! I looked at a 2001 Rain Forest Green that was new on the lot last year (when the 2002's were out). So the dealership apparently had a little trouble selling it... My impressions were good. I'd never been turned on by the color chip, but when I saw it in person I liked it. It's a rich, honest british-racing sort of green if that makes any sense - no teal/blue tones mixed in like you see in a lot of cars these days... I have to mention however, what I liked most about that car was how perfectly the tan leather worked with the green. I'm having a hard time visualing a grey interior...
Wasn't that color a pretty high-cost option? Might partially explain why there are so few. FWIW I would have reservations about a grey interior on that exterior, although I have not personally seen the combination.

Mark I see the auction is over on the Green Pcar. Out of curiosity what did you decide to do?
The auction is over but it did not sell yet. It looks like a great car, well optioned and could be had for $500 less than they were asking on the Reserve Price but I could not get comfortable with the Green / Grey color combination. Thanks for asking. Mark
