Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Can anyone opine on whether GT3 seats in a 996 provide any more headroom and / or legroom than standard seats? The stock seats are a bit confining for me, not the side bolsters but headroom and legroom. I'm 6'8" and need every inch I can get. They look like they might sit lower than stock seats, but short of trying them its hard to tell. Any opinions out there?

POST 2Original post

the gt3 seats don't lower your butt, no. May be a half inch but I don't even think so. There is a trick even though a bit hard core.. When I need extra headroom for my helmet for example, I remove the lower padding, which is on velcro. it is totally driveable, for half an hour or so. If you made some very thin custom padding, that might be a solution for you. But again nowhere as comfy as the stock seats.

POST 4Original post

I have a set in my car. I am of the belief that the brackets you will need to install (sliders and sub bars if, you do, in fact track it, with harnesses) will drop the height a bit. +1 ^, as I observe many of the taller drivers remove the bottom cushion b4 they get in. Might be okay for a stint, but if you drive the car on the street, it would get tiresome, real quick. GL.

POST 5Original post

Being 6'5'' with a 38" inseam, I extended my current driver seat with a product from extendmyseat.com, I posted about this a few months ago. I also removed the back seat cushions. This gave me about 3.5" of rearward travel and my hands no longer hit my knees when I turn the wheel
