were on! i guess he hasn't ever turned on his rear fogs! lol! that said, does anyone here know why all german cars turn on only the left rear fog light? even if you know what it is it still looks odd perhaps that's the whole point? it draws attention to your car in the fog by looking odd? i'll bet viken knows the answer! <img src="graemlins/r.gif" border="0" alt="[king]" />
I believe that the left only fog light is considered a "parking light" in Germany. It is left illuminated when the car is parked on the side of the road so that traffic approaching from the rear can clearly see that a car is on the side of the road and avoid rear-ending it.
jes999, Two different things. The Porsches have both a rear fog light AND the parking lights, one on each side.
First encounter... Many years ago, 97?, now I led/followed a new factory MB320 over stevens pass one foggy night. He had one REALLY BRIGHT brake light on on the left rear. When we got into the flatlands I pulled alongside to tell him he had a brake light always on and he told me that it was a fog light.
