Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

check out page 14 of <a href="http://www.986host.com/gallery/doncapecod?&page=14" target="_blank">Don's Album</a>. The RUF Turbo Cab is awesome.

What happened to the intercooler intakes/wide body??

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

According to the article in latest Excellence RUF reversed the fins on the engine grill which then provided sufficient air intake to exclude the scoops/widebody look.

Does the article mention anything about different intercoolers?

POST 6 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Viken: Here's part of the quote in the article re your comments... On the R turbo Coupe RUF solves the airflow problem by incorporating a NACA duct in the fenders.. On the new 911 Cab, however, the folding roof mechanism makes the integration of tht duct impossible. RUF's solution is as simple as it is elegant. A session in the wind tunnel revealed that by reversing the direction of the cooling slats on the engine lid, ambient air is drawn in rather than vented. Boosting it by venturi effect, special ducting in the engine bay then draws this air over the pair of intercoolers that are positioned in each rear fender. The air exits out again through the slats in the sides of the turbo-style rear bumper." So I guess the reversal of the grille slats does the trick. How simple could that be?? Should Porsche have thought of that??
