Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi folks, I'm thinking about upgrading the suspension in my 996. Any of you know a good shop in the Bay Area? I'm located in San Francisco. Thanks, Sam

POST 2Original post

Buy the parts from Gert at Carnewal.com and then have Custom Alignment do the install. Custom Alignment in Mountain View does a great job for a very reasonable price. They will also tune the suspension to your liking/driving style if you ask. Loren (99 996)

POST 3Original post

In addition to Loren's South Bay recomendation, if you'd rather go North, The Racers Group at Sears Point Raceway has tons of experience with Porsche suspensions and tuning....it helps that they race them. I bought my ROW M030 elsewhere but took it to them for installation and alignment. They did a great job. If you already know what you want to buy, Loren's tip on buying from Gert at Carnewal.com is an excellent one. I've dealt with Gert and he is tops. Mike

POST 4Original post

Custom Alignment is great. They can corner balance if you switch to coli-over set-up. Without asking, they always hand -TQ lugs and align center caps to the valve stem when done. They use state of the art laser gear and force tire balancers . ( They are also a Tire Rack installer if you want to upgrade your rubber. )
