I just posted a thread with this title in the 997 forum. It's about how the ride quality compares between later 996s and early 997s (with some new questions I didn't see directly addressed when I searched). I don't want to start a second thread about the same thing, and I posted it there because I figure most people who know both cars well are likely to spend more time there - but I figured it makes sense to at least post a link here. After all, I searched 996 threads for ride quality info before looking at the 997 forum. Hmm, I'd like to paste the link to the thread, but I can't seem to find it on this forum. Next best thing: search for posts or threads started by me: RS10. There aren't many (yet).
