Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I can't take it when things are not all just right. I'm slowly taking on all the small issues in my new car. My ash try does not stay closed. I pulled the tray out and looked things over. I noticed that a gear in the tray looks to meet a gear below it. I removed the ash tray housing/window buttons and found the small gear laying under it. Even with reinstalling the gear, I don't know what keeps it closed as I haven't ever looked at it before. What part am I missing?

POST 2Original post

Do yourself a favor and order the non-smoker storage cubby and swap it out - it looks so much better and you'll have a place to store coins, phone, etc. Check it out at Suncoast.

That looks like my only option unless someone wants to sell me a working one that matches or I can steal the parts off of. The car has all the carbon fiber stuff and I wanted to keep it stock.
