Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

6 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My MY2000 cabriolet top squeaks toward the end of the opening process. I'm guessing it needs lubricating, but haven't found any threads detailing the fix. Does anyone know which parts require periodic lubrication and what kind of lube to use?

POST 4Original post

I would think a light machine oil sparingly applied.

POST 5Original post

Always be cautious about applying any sort of lubricant to a cabriolet top--that stuff can get on the canvas where it shows and you'll never get rid of it. Do it sparingly!!

I found this rentech link discussing 'almost' the same problem which may help. http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic...nvertible-top/

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
