After looking at this, it looks like more of a project than I expected. Not much access. Drop the column? Roll the dash? Has anyone done this who could give me a tip?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Thank you. I'm actually trying to take out the steering lock completely, (as is required by most roadracing sanctioning bodies). In other car's it has been quite easy. In this case, because of the offset key switch, I'm not sure what to do about the additional linkage from the switch to the column. At least this car has a mechanical linkage. When I raced a C5 corvette, the actuator was electrical. I didn't remove it... and it locked the steering wheel when I was driving to grid for a race! (apparently they had a recall). Nowadays, I'm a little touchy when it comes to following recommendations on disabling column locks.
