Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have never sat or seen them in person. For those of you that have them or had/sat in them what are your opinions? More or less comfortable? OK for long drives?

POST 2Original post

My 996 has sport seats, and my 944 does not not really any difference in comfort, but the sport seats are slightly harder either are ok for longer drives.

POST 3Original post

I love mine. Great support through turns (I never slide around) and confortable enough for long drives (8+ hours). Im skinny though, so depending on your shape your experience might differ.

POST 4Original post

Love mine, very comfortable on long drives and good support in corners, I’m 5’10” 180 lbs. If you’re wide like a linebacker, I could imagine the seat back side support may hit you in the wrong places.

POST 5Original post

I have had both (comfort seats in the 986 and hard back sport seats in the 996). I prefer the sport seats - they do tend to hold you in better on track, but not like a racing seat. Both are comfortable on long drives. I am not a big frame person (5 ft 8 in, 170 lb), others may have different experience with them.

POST 6Original post

It took me awhile to feel comfortable when I first purchased my C2(almost 14 years ago), but now I love the support they give me.(5'11 178 lbs.)

POST 7Original post

I am 5' 10", 200 lbs and after 4 hours, the sport seats are not the greatest for me. They do offer good support and wrap around but I am looking to upgrading to the Braum Elite X series when my budget allows. I think they will hold me a little better and fit in my budget.

POST 8Original post

@ 5'9", 215lbs the sports seats are a bit narrow for me, but I'm getting used to them. A member here was gracious enough to give me a set of comfort seats which I'll eventually install. I'll probably swap the sports in and out for track/autox days.

OK so about my size. Im 5'8" and 210 lbs. Muscular with sort of broad shoulders so thats my concern. I'm about to close deal on a Turbo and it has them. Trying to decide to fly and drive it home or have it shipped

Yup, similar build with a layer of dad bod over top At first I really disliked them after more than 15 minutes, but I'm slowly getting used to them and have been able to drive an hour without really thinking about them. I suppose if you take a few breaks on the way home you might be fine. Could be worth the minor discomfort vs. the cost of shipping.

POST 11Original post

OK, here is another comment about the sport seats take it however you want I have a CCW permit and carry IWB in the 4 O'clock position The narrower side bolsters of the sport seats makes it very uncomfortable to sit in while carrying, however the standard seats are no problem im 5'-10' 185ish

POST 12Original post

Depends on what you are "carrying", LCP IWB at 4 is perfect (190 5' 11")

I had the same problem in my 2008 R32 and in my current 2013 JCW Mini Clubman. Appendix carry all the way. Get the right holster and you'll never look back. Easier to get to the firearm while seated and belted in also
