I was fortunate enough to buy some really nice pieces of carbon fiber. All original parts in terrific condition. I was planning on swapping the carbon one out with the gray one in my car. Are they simple to remove and reinstall?

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Yes. one screw is behind the hazard button, so that has to be pried off. The other screw is behind the little speaker cover. Pull up on the assembly.. Then there are 3 connectors in the back that need to be disconnected. I'm sure there are better instructions out there, but yes, pretty easy. Other than that, just the hex screws to take off. There is a lip on the front of the trim that goes into the hood, so careful not to pull the wrong way and break it. One hex that is overlooked is the one that is on the left side of the hood and goes in through the padding.
Thank you I believe you have addressed all my concerns about removing this piece. I also have the ebrake. Do you know if the carbon fiber is removable. The part I have the carbon fiber is nice but the leather is rough. The exiting ebrake handle in my car is in good shape. Id like to just get the carbon fiber on.
It is glued on. To get mine off I heated it up in the oven and it pulled right off. The paint wrinkled on it, but I was refinishing mine anyway. You, however, are not. Try a hair dryer to heat it up and pull when the glue is softened, I would say. The piece with the stitching comes off separately, though. I would just swap out that piece.
