Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Well, after 6 months and some very annoying transmission problems, the S4 is history. Took delivery of this very nice 2008 TT 3.2 s-line roadster yesterday, and I have to tell you, having a cab again is just a blast. It's no Porsche, but for a daily commuter, it's just plain fun. Car's quick, with a nice exhaust note, optioned fully, and the damn 19"s are bigger than those on the C4S! Came through with Pilot Sports, too!! Now, THIS one I'll drive!! Even my wife loves it! Except when she saw the size of the trunk, she commented that even grocery bags won't fit. I said, "That's the idea, isn't it??" She's not talking to me much today.

POST 2Original post

Nice TT. I guess the C4S is now the grocery hauler!

POST 3Original post

If you want to drive you have the car already! Are you thinking like maybe 5000 miles a year or something? I imagine it would remind me of my boxster and those are all good memories. Have fun and stay married.

Honestly, I would have bought a Boxster, but because of the issues involved with the tradeback of the S4, Audi of America 'urged' me to stay with Audi - with a nudge from a very nice incentive check.

POST 6Original post

Congrats on the demise of the lemon and welcome to the TT. Glad to hear that the transaction went smoothly! Now go out and drive the C4S as it's a beautiful day.

POST 7Original post

Yea Phil. Congrats on the Audi. Now you'll be faced with a real choice...which one will I drive today??

Too busy driving the TT! I hope the thing isn't too much fun, or we're looking at another sulfated battery.

POST 9Original post

Congrats on the purchase. Looks like a fun drive!

POST 11Original post

Awright, you've had it for almost two days now. What're you gonna get next?

POST 12Original post

Congratulations, and welcome to the Audi TT fraternity. Mine is a daily driver and has served me well, with performance that is not what I would call "high performance sports car performance," but is nevertheless quite satisfactory. Good luck with yours, Phil...it's beautiful.

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks everyone for their compliments. As VGM911 implies - it's no Porsche, but a really fun, neat car for daily drives. And it really is nice looking in a strange way. The 19"s and RS4 type rims really do work well with the car. The silver I think is a good choice. Especially for an "older" guy like me!!

POST 14Original post

The new TT IS a fantastic car. The new platform / chassis is much improved over the last version. Enjoy it...it is a great car and with the 3.2 an awesome drivetrain. C.

POST 15Original post

Congrats on the new toy and I love the RS4 rims. Honestly though, I can't understand how you could walk past the 911 and get into the Audi. It's all I can do to keep from putting 15K/ year on mine.

POST 16Original post

Great car! Now you have 2 AWD sports cars. Lucky you! J

POST 17Original post

Congratulations! A 2001 tt roadster is what got me started on this crazy hobbie. . .

POST 18Original post

My last car was an 02 Audi TT 225, and I referred to it as a poor man's Porsche. It served me well for 4 years, but I love my 996 in comparison.

POST 19Original post

Phil, Congrats on getting the TT! She certainly is a Beauty.

POST 21Original post

What -- no R8? Looks great, and yeah, the VR6 has a great unique sound, but I also love the 2.0T in my A3. I assume yours is Quattro? I was looking at the Eos and 135 Cab a while back cuz wifey would need a 4-seater for the kids.

Dealer has a Mugello Blue R8 with a cinnamon interior. Very Italian looking combo and a really nice car. But, at $137K, I'd rather have a Porsche, but that R8 is awfully nice. Yes, my TTR is a 3.2 with quattro and short throw six speed - great car to drive. I've had two convertibles previous to this car - a '68 Pontiac GTO and a '71 Triumph TR4A IRS. I forgot how much fun these cars are. Even the commute home was a blast.

Thanks Tim. Only a matter of time till you're back in the saddle of another P-car.

POST 24Original post

My last car was a previous generation TT coupe. Not the fastest car but it might have been the prettiest. I enjoyed it thoroughly.
