Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello all, I have a 99 C2 which has developed a leak. I can only see coolant leaking from the body of the car just above the left tailpipe. At this piont I am assuming it is the coolant tank that has craked as it is a drip type leak. From what I have read so far the 99-00 tank are smaller than the 01 and later versions. Since the the newer/larger tank is also cheaper, can I use the newer tank in my car and get the benefit of added capacity as well as a cheaper price? Thanks in advance.

The newest/largest tank that you can use in a MY99 car is 996.106.147.56

There are a number of DIY threads on how to change out the tank yourself....it might take a couple hours but you can save yourself quite a bit. Last time I bought a tank from Sunset it was $158 and a spare probe for the bottom in case you break it was $12.
