Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

19 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Got the latest issue of Christophorus mag, and they had an article about a Turbo S coupe and Cab. Upgraded intercoolers and turbos, PCCB (ceramic brakes) standard. The quoted 0-62 times as 4.25 coupe, 4.35 cab (6 spd) No word on pricing or hp tho....

POST 2Original post

coupe starts at 131k, cab at 143 IIRC, hp is 444, x50 is standard on this car.

POST 3Original post

Do the PCCB brakes squeek at low speeds? I thought I heard that somewhere.

POST 4Original post

Yeah, I'd take one... http://content2.us.porsche.com/prod/...aenglish/intro

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the link Mark, the olive color is really sweet... So is it really just a Turbo with X50, or is there more power than that?

POST 6Original post

How did you see the olive color? I tried building one but it's only the 996. Thanks

POST 7Original post

It is a turbo with x50 standard. no more or less power.

POST 8Original post

The regular Turbo is listed at 415HP. The Turbo S is at 444HP. Sounds like a boost of 29HP to me...??

POST 9Original post

and x50 is the power package that provides that increase.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

David, Follow the link that boston mark put up, click on the Performance menu item on the right. Really nice, especially with that interior. Looks almost black. Matterhorn, not saying that there is not an improvement over the std turbo, but was wondering if it had more hp than an X50 turbo, which it doesn't...

POST 11Original post

Got it. Gee, another marketing gimmick from Porsche to make more money? I never would have imagined.

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Its not that bad of a deal tho...std tt cab is 128k, then add 8k for brake and 18k for power kit, and you're at 154k...so 141 isn't too bad, plus you get some other special things..like alu dials, special color, etc.

POST 14Original post

Mark, I have an allocation for a coupe and a cab, if you like it so much

POST 16 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Alfie, If you can save em til Mark is done with B-School, he'll take both, his and hers They are really nice, but I already have a mortgage, I don't need a car payment that big to boot...

POST 17Original post

I'll consider it if Ira will give me a 2-year scholarship for B-school

POST 18Original post

if we give you the scholarship, you'll consider it? or you'll do it? Ill present any offer to management

POST 19Original post

Hehe...I wish I had a guaranteed job offer for afterwards You can always ask...that would be quite a plug for Ira... But in two years, I'll be waiting on my 998!
