Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have a 2000 996, and I'm thinking about installing the OEM aerokit front bumper and side pieces (I'm not a fan of the rear spoiler). The dealer has told me there's 2 available, the regular aerokit, and the aerokit cup. Is this accurate? If so, where can I find photos of both, so I can decide which to order? Thanks

POST 2Original post

Carrera aerokit is the GT3 front, sides, rear side trims, and carerra small tail with 3rd brake light. The cup aerokit (coupe only) is the same except the rear wing is the mk1 wing (taco style).

POST 3Original post

I think the front bumper from the "regular" gt3 aerokit will fit 02 an later only.

POST 4Original post

not correct. the kit you are thinking of is the cup aerokit II for 02+ cars.

POST 5Original post

in the 996 generation the aerokit and aerokit cup generally mean the same thing. there are however, 2 different aerokits one for models before 7/01 and one for after.

POST 6Original post

That's correct Tom. There is a aerokit (cup I) and aerokit II for 99-01 and 02+ respectively. Not sure what Patrick is referring to by "regular" but nonetheless I think we have covered all bases for dp35.

POST 7Original post

I believe the rear trim is not included with the aero pkg. They are a seperate item ie optional.

POST 8Original post

If you buy the kit they are included. 000 044 801 89 Aerokit (included side trims) 000 044 801 02 Cup Aerokit (also included)
