Searched high and low for some instructions on removing the trim piece that surrounds the ignition keyhole without any luck. Anyone have a set of instructions or a link to a previous thread? Thanks.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just grab around the outside and pull--it is flexible, and there is nothing but friction holding it in place. You could also slide a plastic knife behind the lip and pry gently.
Sorry, no info on how to remove, but I noticed that my ignition surround moves around/has alot of play, is that normal...... Also, I have had my car for 2-3 weeks and twice I put the key in and it would not turn. I tried as hard as I could, moved steering wheel lock and no luck. Then, a few minutes later I try again and no problem.... what gives??? RVP
Bavarian is correct. I used a small flat blade screw driver and gently squeezed it out. Its pretty easy.
Thanks guys!
Surround might be weathered..... simple pull and replace..... Not sure about the ingition issue.... -Eli
Yes, like they said. Slip a plastic or something soft behind it and pop it out. Theres really know way you can break it. The key not turning sounds like your ignition switch is on its way out. Sometimes if you park with the wheels turned, they will preload the steering lock and you may have to turn the steering wheel a bit to release the lock... If it feels "sticky" or binding, the ignition switch needs replaced... HTH
