Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Just my early thoughts for anyone else considering a change. Early driving impression compared to the 01. Car feels much tighter and more solid. Almost feels heavier, but in a good way (even though its not). Not nearly as harsh of a ride with the 18" wheels (same on 01) and I do not have the sport chrono or the PASM. Fit and finish in the interior is so much nicer, drives like a Porsche should but inside feels like we are in a Lexus. Standard seats much more comfortable than 01. Transmission (manual) shifts much cleaner and more precise (liked the shape of the 01 shifter better). Forgive me for saying this but the "creature comforts" like the cup holders, the rain sensing wipers, the automatic tilting of the outside mirror in reverse, and even the power outlet in the passenger foot well, make the car much more pleasurable getting from point to point when you are just out cruising. I guess the best way to sum it all up is to say that with the 01 my wife would drive it if I asked, with the 05....well I can't get the keys out of her hands. Still trying to decide if this is a good or bad thing! __________________

Congratulations on your beautiful new Porsche.

And I thought going to the 996 from an 80's 911 and a 90's 964 was a huge interior quality improvement. Either the 997 is really something inside, or we have gotten pretty spoiled the last couple of years Geert
