Saw the link another forum and thought with all the recent hoop la, it might be interesting to some. http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...tos_quality_dc Number 3 or top 5 not to bad for a high performance car manufacturer, especially in light of the Cayenne's new release which aI think has a some teething issues with stuff like Nav, rear wiper leaking and etc.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

For a high performance manufacturer like Porsche to be in the top three is incredible. Let's hope that the 997 doesn't pull down Porsche's quality metrics. Thanks for sharing.
Doug, Thanks - I think that really helps put some unbiased clarity into the mix. Barry
The Lapis Blue is such a great color.
GM ranked above BMW - ha ha ha!
That is very sad. I raced Bimmers for years and years... Now I'm in a Porsche.
I just want to clarify a point that I think you are referring to Doug in regards, no doubt, to all the doom and gloom of the RMS postings across this and all the other Porsche forums. My issue is not in regards to the quality or reliability of this marque, it's in regard to Porsche AG failing in its duty to its customers to openly admit to the RMS problem being a manufacturing defect and to repair it under a no-questions-asked-warranty as a result. Also, I note in this report. Quote: "The closely watched J.D. Power and Associates survey of long-term vehicle dependability is based on responses from 48,000 owners of three-year-old vehicles in the United States ...." But I wonder what the survey would have shown for 5 year old vehicle owners on a worldwide basis. Note that in RoW we only get 2 years warranty.
Scouser: Actually the board I got this from does not really have anything bad to say about Porsche in general and there is not "doom and gloom" all over that board. I haven't seen you over there. Who knows what the poll would have said if it went back 5 years. Maybe the same, maybe worse, maybe better. If it was a 5 year poll, some would still find something to take issue with. I really don't put that much stock in these polls anyway. Just passing it on.
Third is OK. But seriously, there is no reason why Porsche can't be number one. b-man
Two reasons: Toyota (Lexis) & Honda. Let's they still try to match or beat them.
