My car has decided to blip the throttle all by itself! Typically, after steady driving for a few minutes and stopping at traffic lights, the idle speed will suddenly jump from normal up to somewhere between 1000 and 1400 rpm, just for a second or less, as if I had blipped the throttle. It might do this two or three times over about 30 seconds. Car otherwise drives normally. Has anyone experienced this? Is the issue known? Any clues welcomed.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.
