I am buying a 2002 Cab delivered 6/02 ,it has 13,000 miles, the Porsche dealer I am buying it from says he can add the factory extended warranty/certification for $2,000. I will drive it 5,000 miles a year or so, seems like $2,000. is a bargain to warranty the car for 2 additional years after 6/06, even if nothing breaks (yeah, right!) the resale should be plus $2,000. when I sell it in a few years. Is that $2,000. number about right ? Thanks

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I think that the price is negotiable. But make sure you get it.
I recall some posters who paid around $1650 for the extended warranty. So the price that they are offering you is in the ball park. I'd offer the dealer $1700 and see if he's agreeable.
Get it, peace of mind is a good thing... Then drive the heck out of it and enjoy it!!!
I was quoted $1700.00 last week to certify my 01 for a private sale, however I do have an 05 TT "S" due 01/20 so I think the price may reflect a repeat customer discount?
Its negotiable. But I was quoted $1200 for a 996 turbo from two dealers.
When I got mine, last year, I was told the cost that Porsche charges the dealer is $1,595.
1600-1750 I think would be a fair price for the warranty...Good luck...sounds nice!!! Jim
ditto on the $1595 -- that is what I was quoted. They offered to lower the price by $1595 as well if I declined the Porsche Certified warranty. I kept the warranty as it was worth it to me (first 911). John
Thank you all- $1595. looks like a winner will do Bob
