Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Got my wing today and am going to have someone pick it up and paint it tomorrow. Will post a diy on installation possibly next weekend or the weekend after when I get time and am back in town. I'm not sure if I want to keep it though because the more and more I look at the car it looks just fine without the wing. I personally like the stock carrera rear, but because I'm getting bored with the car I wanted to try something out with it. So anyways, I got the wing and i"m gonna get it painted and install it soon but what do you guys think? The wing or no wing? Pic of car with wing (not my car) Pic of car without wing (my car without my new wheels on it)

POST 2Original post

Yes Wing! I have that wing on a seal grey 996 and it looks SO much better. Absolutely zero negative comments.

POST 3Original post

biased because i don't have a wing: i will never have a wing. period. nose/skirts, possibly, but no wing. my car isn't going to leave the ground anytime soon. if modded out to the hilt, then yes, wing. but it all has to be done for it to tie everything in. my honest .02.

POST 4Original post

Do you already have the front spoiler? If you install the wing, wouldn't it unbalance the car? I know the newer 996s aren't like the old 911 (where it makes a huge difference) but.....

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I already have the front spoiler. I posted a diy on renntech on installation of it if you're interested. Takes about 45 minutes to take off the old one and put on the new one. Love it!

POST 6Original post

return the wing--your car looks better without it! in addition it will not make any substantial difference in performance. the classic 911 profile is hard to improve.

POST 8Original post

Go with whatever you like. Personally I like the Aero Kit look.

POST 9Original post

Wing it! I think wings balance out the rear of the car very nicely. In fact, I personally think that wings look better on 911's than almost any other car. Others will disagree and that's what makes the world go around... In the end - it should be what makes you happier with your car. The good news is that your car will look awesome either way...
