Well, only a year after I became a member of the 996 fraternity, I'm out again. About one hour ago, the new owner of my 2002 C2 drove off into the sunset. The sale was reluctant to say the least, but necessary. I've taken an overseas assignment, and it was just not practical to take the car with me... I sold the car for $41.5K which is at the lower end of the selling prices for that car here in Vancouver. Maybe not dead lowest, but the car was (is) a good one and worth more. I hope the new owners enjoy it as much as I did, but I doubt they will because I liked it on the Porsche level...if that makes any sense. Nevertheless, it's liberating to have exchanged the car for cash, and my car fund is healthy for the time being. After 10+ years of 911 ownership, and 1 year of 996 ownership. I remain huge fan of the water pumper. In about three years I should be ready be ready to get back in to a Porsche and I am already looking forward to my choice. A GT3 tops the list, but I'm also thinking I'll be able to buildup a damned cool 996 hotrod for very little money by then. I'm thinking a 99 with a reman motor, lightweight wheels, stripped interior, GT3 seats, PSS9 suspension, X50 oil pan, short shift kit. Or maybe a Turbo with the front differential removed. Maybe the 997 will be cheap by then. The possibilities are endless. The only problem will be living without a Porsche for the next three years! Anyway - thanks guys. I will be lurking.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

From one Canuck to another - Sorry to see you taking a hiatus from pcar ownership, but I hope you have fun in Wales. Hope you come back and get a GT3 too... -

hope you stick around and shoot the breeze once in awhile.... glad your still a water cooled brother.
Good luck Jasper. Be safe over there.
congrats on the new gig - make it a success so you can come back and buy a new P-car! I did 4 years in Australia - and a Porsche was out of the question (the cars there are about double in price). Well done on the sale too - makes me feel good that I gave $35.5K for my 2002 C2 w/ 31K miles!
Best of luck in your new assignment, keep lurking, there will be another in your future and you won't have to "catch up".
