Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Found an interesting car at Mercedes Benz of Sugar Land, TX, but the local Porsche dealer doesn't do PPIs apperently for liability reasons. Any suggestions on an independent PPI?

POST 2Original post

We have three local Porsche dealers in Houston. Maybe P of N Houston can help you out. Ask for Roger Gay there. He's a PCA member and active in the Houston chapter. Joost

POST 3Original post

Call West Houston Porsche. They do PPI's and have a very good service dept. I've used them more than once for this service. Edit, I"m sure Joost is correct about N. Houston Porsche, but the West Houston dealership is much closer to Sugarland. Ask for James in service, and tell him Mike Globe suggested you call.

Highly appreciated !

You could consider Protechnik: http://protechnik.com/ A friend of mine uses them and is pretty pleased. It is in Sugar Land.

POST 6Original post

I've heard good things about Protechnik too - but they were, strangely, more expensive than the dealer for regular service...

POST 7Original post

try calling Viking Sjovall [phone removed]. He was the service manager for many years at Don McGill Porsche and has his own shop in Sugarland. His PPI saved me thousands on a 993 purchase.

POST 8Original post

whats his place called? That seems to be a great hook - up!

POST 9Original post

Viking motorsports. He knows all the guys at the various shops in town too, and can usually get the service history on any car

POST 11Original post

Victory Motorcars has a service department now. Don't have any experience with them but it may be worth a call to Robert Neal at [phone removed].

Good to hear more positive feedback on Viking. I will definitely give them a ring for my new clutch and various other installs that are coming up. Doug, BTW great to meet you at the Urbanspeed gig. Awesome TT.
