Does Mrs. Tim need glasses? That car is HOT. If you don't buy it, I will. Where is it and what is the $$. I have relatives in Houston, grew up there. I like it a lot.
looks nice.. but not feeling the Carrera sticker
Classy! I like it!
The operative comment here is The Mrs. doesn't like it. If your thinking of purchase I'd go back to the operative comment. If it's just a matter of discussion or light banter, stick to your guns and put your foot down by god.
I think it's awesome and I don't really like white cars! Evo - I don't know what to say, I think the Carrera sticker makes the car. My wife said the sticker reminded her of a Camaro .
I hear what you're saying, it is all subjective anyways. You will always have people that like it and those who dont Personally, I don't really like having big stickers on the car unless your car is of course a track monster, or *ahem* gt3 rs kind of takes away from the sexy lines... but this is just one man's opinion!
I and my son like it, kind off an old school look....go for it. I would give you a thumbs if we passed each other...
Hot.
Not a card-carrying member of this forum, but have an opinion on the sticker... it might as well read "Eat at Joe's". Have never understood taking the timeless, classic lines of some cars and putting some huge sticker on it. Cars that have no lines or style need large billboards on them... not 911s IMHO. p.s. never understood the Lamborghinis that had that big SV script on the side... maybe I am uncultured in the ways of designating some high-end sportscar models above their mere base siblings.
I like the car of course. Don't like Porsche white and loose that stupid sticker.
I don't think the message is "eat at Joe's". I think the message is "Look at Me". I think we are all guilty on that one to some degree. Agree with Jim about the color. To me, it looks like it's waiting for a color to be chosen.
I'd love to see it in Orange!

I can't resist.... do 996 owners need this "Look at Me" billboarding on their cars? Again, sorry I couldn't help myself and, of course, they don't. Just to save myself in enemy territory, I would further add that ever time I see a 996 in my locale (which isn't often in SW Ohio) I am always amazed at how great they look... even if they do have antifreeze (had to throw an air cooled remark in there). Rob
the old stripe and new design clashes in my opinion. it reminds me of a mustang stripe.
I've never been a fan of white cars... with the exception of the 911 2.7 RS in white with red stripes/lettering. This car is what started the P-car dream in me when I was 5 or 7 yrs old... a few decades later I fullfilled the P-car dream (albeit not in 2.7 RS form -- that dream still continues). Some feel big butts are what make a Porsche a Porsche, but to me this white and Carrera sign combination is "classy" classic Porsche all the way, and very nicely done in 997 form.
a classic look on a modern car...very nice!
I like it and, with the expectation of the 959, I'm really not a fan of white Porsche's. It is a bit of a throw back with the carrera side marking... I don't know. I'd say overall it's unique and I'm ambivalent about the sticker... just a matter of taste.
it's OK
That's the nicest 997 I've yet seen. Stunning. So far the 997 shape just doesn't do it for me...but that one, in white, with the black wheels and sticker make it a winner. So far, that's the only 997 I'd happily have parked on my driveway. (I still wouldn't swap my C4S for it though)
1. If Mrs. Tim doesn't like the car that's all that matters. Don't learn this lesson from the school of hard knocks like I did. 2. I don't like white nor do I like stripes or stickers, but strangely enough the combination of the sticker on a white car looks good to me. Maybe the sticker adds a liitle pazazz to the all white car.
Good advice Fast1. I'm not sure I'm willing to move up to a 997 yet anyway. I just thought it was a really good looking car but when Mrs. Tim said she thought it looked like a Camaro I decided to appeal to a higher authority, you guys!
The biggest factor here is - do YOU like this car? Not Mrs. Whoever or anyone else (like on this board) or where ever else. (Slaps him across face - says hey man - snap out of it) My advise would be to look around and find those missing kahones and do what pleases YOU With all of that said - you might want to know that I've been through more than one spouse in my life, I'm currently single (and plan to stay that way) and never was too good at the relationship thing or listening to someone else (maybe there's a connection there - ya think?) Dan 1999 C2 Cab (White with black top)
I think I'll stick with fast1's advice 'cause if Momma ain't happy ain't no one happy! :P
in complete agreement
Is that a Porsche, or an Amana?
I think it looks pretty good. Dont know how that sticker would look after a a year of washing and waxing. Lou
Your wish is my command: Other "Porsche" colors: I love Photoshop.
i guess thats where all the 'looks like its waiting for paint' comments come from
Sticker is "cool" from a history standpoint, but I would never drive a 997 with something that loud. I am not a fan of black wheels, either. Here's a cleaner version of a white 997S:
Wow... Jim... I think I'm liking white cars more and more now
What's not to like!!
OK, those rims are hot... I'm buying those!!
