Well, we got SilverGhost 996 rebuilt after that little mishap at the track last fall and I'm not really happy with it like it is (okay, and perhaps I'm just looking to scratch an itch I've had for quite some time). So, I'm going to strip my 1999 SilverGhost Supercharged 996 down to the tub, engine and tranny, then rebuild as a 2002 ALMS GT3 RS full time track car complete with all the carbon fiber parts. The suspension was already upgraded to a GMG World Challenge GT3 Cup suspension last year. The brakes are being upgraded to full race brakes. A full cage is being installed (funny thing about carbon fiber doors is that they don't offer much protection if someone decides to T-bone you at the track or you decide to see if your little 2500 lb car can actually move the retaining wall at about 150 mph). Obviously, I won't have the RS engine or a Copans gearbox because I am keeping my supercharged 3.4L motor and stockish transmission and rear diff for the time being. (The stock stuff is obviously much less expensive and I still like my supercharged engine.) But virtually everything else is coming out from the interior down to the metal and all of the body panels are coming off. With all this being said, I will have a ton of parts for sale and just figured out how to post a link to my FS thread in the Member to Member For Sale Forum. So here is the link. https://rennlist.com/forums/for-sale-ads-member-to-member-fs-wtb-free/432604-fs-my99-996-c2-parts-parting-out-for-race-conversion.html Have fun and maybe there are some parts that will help a fellow Rennlister save some money. I on the other hand, can't seem to save a dime cause building this thing is going to get pricey, but oh well, No Human Kids & No Wife = More Money for My Two Non-human Kids Named Porsche.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Sounds like a cool project. However, you are building a Koni / PCA GTB car rather than a ALMS/Grand-Am GT2 car. There is a HUGE difference between the GT3 and the 996C2. Not sure what the supercharger does in the way of rules if you decide to race though.

Dell: You are correct, it won't be a pure ALMS GT3, I'm not doing welded seams or some of the other many little differences. I guess it will be more like a KONI car than an ALMS, but the body will be purely ALMS. And I'll have fun with it. Plus, the upside to me anyway is that when my tranny breaks, I don't have to pay Copans $$$$$ for a new one and when I blow my engine, I don't have to pay PMNA $$$$$ for a new one.
Hijack of thread! Curious how the supercharger has held up for you. I've done most of the high speed mods to my 996 C4 Cabrio daily driver (except intake and ECU stuff for obvious reasons) and am thinking of a EVOMS I/C SC for my 3.4... Thanks for your input!

Why would you break your tranny and blow the the motor? FYI....your numbers are WAY off. Also, superchargers aren't in any of the series. Are you planning to race this?

The supercharger is great and has held up very well. I'm very happy with it. Please note, that you will no longer deal with EVOMS for the S/C kit; but instead, go directly through VF Engineering.

Yes, I will race this car some here and there. As for my numbers being WAY off, I beg to differ. As I now ready the thread, I regret publishing the numbers, as I guess I should have thought before publishing the numbers without first checking to see if I was had permission to reveal pricing in the public forum. I have edited the numbers out of the above, but would like to continue the discussion via PM. I am positive of my numbers though.
