POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I did the search and found tons of photos of different spoilers for the front of a 2001 C2 MK1 Aero. I want to get one but I am still confused about the MK2 spoiler fitting a MK1 bumper. Photos and places to buy would be very much appreciated. And, this ups my post numbers. Paul

POST 2Original post

Lazerblade, Im in the same boat, want to do a full MK1 Aero kit, cost from porsche indy is 12K plus tax. Are you doing just the front lip, currious as to how it would look without skirts and rear spoiler.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I did the whole MK1 Aerokit sans the taco spoiler. I was able to get all the OEM parts from Rennlist members and the OEM bumper off Ebay. What I am looking for i is information on different options for my new front bumper spoiler wise. I did my whole Aerokit with OEM parts for less then $3000 including painting and installation without the Taco wing.

Things to consider: 1. The true MkI aero front includes the complete front nose fascia element. Simply put, the bumper and the splitter are one. Photo: 2. This nose can be had from $500 for aftermarket to around $750 for OEM. Do some searching. For OE try Sunset, Suncoast Motorsports, and eBay. yep...eBay. For aftermarket try MAShaw.com. FWIW - I put on a full aerokit on my last 996. Completely OE parts and installed myself for around $2500 not including paint. My personal recommendation is to stick with OE parts. But that is my opinion. Hope this helps. C.

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Chad, You mean the black spoiler at the bottom is one piece with the bumper or I should have got that with my OEM bumper? Looks great though. This is the kind of information I need. I also remember someone putting a MKII splitter on a MK1 Paul

As for the spoiler, I just so happen to have a left over stock piece. However, there are three to consider: Prices range from $50 (for my used one) to $300 or so for the cup splitter. The original OE MkI spoiler part is flat, but fits the curvature of the front lip perfectly. (as it should) The second option is the paintable MkII GT3 cup spoiler. This one requires slight modification but offers a bit more aggressive front lip (that is the one shown in the photo above). The third option is the most aggressive lip. It is a MkII GT3 lip that requires no paint but extends from the front about 2.5". It is strangely the most expensive and will require some slight modification to make it work. (This is what I currently have on the 996). If you want mine, I can send photos...Just let me know. C.

No - My first post refers to the true aerokit components. As for the spoiler options, read my post above. C.

POST 8 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

We were typing at the same time. LOL thank so much. Paul

POST 9Original post

Here is the aerokit I installed. Also, the front spoiler on this one is the MkII GT3 spoiler that does not need paint. Looks great is quite functional as well.

POST 10 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Chad, looks great. Where did you get that one? And, how much?

Hoping you mean the spoiler - Suncoast Motorsports. About $250 or so, IIRC C.

POST 12Original post

Chad, how about a photo of each type if you have them... the posts referring to "this one" and "that one" get confusing. I'm in the Aero nose market myself and need some clarification on the various types...
