Horrible, rumbling noise and vibration from under pax side dash with A/C above low fan settings. Anybody seen this?

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

of vibration from the center console/dash that is next to my right foot. I first became aware of this while warming up engine and playing with fan setting with my right foot off of throttle pedal leaning against the hard surface of the lower dash, console. I could feel the vibration through my shoe. At first thought something horribly wrong but in lowering the cabin fan speed the vibration went away. At any speed other than full speed fan vibration not a problem. Likely due to some tiny imbalance in the fan that makes itself known at the highest speed. If you experience something like this at lower fan speeds that's not right. Could be a fan bearing going bad. Could be a imbalance problem. Could even be a bit of insulation or something similar that has come lose and is partially in the fan. With A/C off if you run fan speed up and down does vibration get worse, better, or stays about the same? Is there some point at which the vibration goes from not a problem to a problem? This could be an imbalance problem. If the noise/vibration stays the same all the time could still be an imbalance problem but more likely to be a fan bearing or even some debris interfering with the fan. Sincerely, Macster.
The fan noise starts at 5 bars and it doesn't matter whether the AC is on or off. I'm taking P-car to the dealer this week for the $$ bad news. Thanks Macster, rb
RB. just take out your cabin filter, reach in thru the hole with ur hand and rip out the foam padding that has gotten trapped in the fan. my dash would be noisy and vibrate horribly because this weather padding got caught in the dash fan. free fix that takes less than 5 minutes.
Sweet! You were correct; a piece of foam was stuck in the fan area. Code one P-car -- thanks Omar!
