Called a Chicagoland $tealer today to get a quote on a quick battery replacement (after searching the archives). Their answer: $300 - $350, "depending on the battery". When I asked whether they can use one of the Interstate batteries, the answer was "you have to be very careful where the vent tube is on the battery"...ummmm, that didn't answer my question. My guess is they only want to install Porsche OEM and charge equivalently. Time to call Sears or look into doing it myself w/help from Autozone.

Coverage and how to read this overview
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Battery Plus will have exact interstate replacement.
it's like the porsche coolant at $60 a bottle, when all it is a $1.50 bottle of coolant dyed a different color.. porsche likes to take us all for a ride in more ways than one with some of their tactics... it's a bit insulting on their pricing for some of their items.. when it's 10,000% profit.. just have to take it in the *** once in awhile from them, all part of the porsche experience...
Buy an Optima - save some $$ and some weight.
Just go to a Walmart or other department store and get a $48 battery that is just as good and will fit perfectly. Why on earth would someone buy a Porsche Battery. But then there are those that foolishly pay $200 for an oil change. Go figure. You get the Interstate at Napa for less than $100.
