Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My sister-in-law is buying a house at the beach. Due to added expenses, she wants to try to sell her 2002 Carrera 4 Cab. It has 33k miles and also comes with a hard top. She is asking $49,900 and lives in the Southern Maryland/DC area. I do not know much about this model. I actually got my 1990 C4 Cab from her so that is the only model I am familiar with. Here are some pictures. PM me and I will provide contact information if you are interested. Duck

POST 2Original post

The price seems rather high (not that I don't hope she gets it), but I would look on autrader, cars dot com, and ebay for similar car prices. I would also suggest posting in the for sale section with a list of any option codes, service work, or mods. Best of luck, car looks nice.

POST 3Original post

Duck: As was previously stated....I think your sister's price of $49.9K or an 02 Carrera is optimistic to say the least. One of the forum guys put together a quick price comparison for 01-02 996TT's and there was a spread from around $48K to $58K for a twin turbo!! (Do a search for the discussion) Given the current P-car market and economy....I think your sister should do some quick price research/comparisons and review her position. Either that or she might be faced with parking the car at the beach house. Lots of Porsches on the market right now.

POST 4Original post

Call me crazy, but I think I'd rather spend $5k LESS & get this Turbo: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...r_id=221738896 Or about $3k more & get a 997: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...r_id=244108878 ... I'm no expert, but I've been looking around for a while, as I'm in the process of buying a Porsche, & your sister's car should go for about 35k

yup, it's too spendy. can't argue with getting a house on the beach though. she single? just kidding! good luck
